Dow Corning and Sto Corp Announce Strategic Warranty Agreement |

Single source warranty provides “one-stop shopping” for restoration systems Midland, Michigan, USA – Dow Corning Construction Industries, Americas has entered into a strategic warranty agreement with Sto Corp., the worldwide leader of cladding, coating and restoration systems. The cornerstone of the agreement is an innovative single source warranty issued by Sto on Sto® brand cladding systems when used in conjunction with Dow Corning® 790, 791 or 795 Building Sealants and Dow Corning® brand primers. “We’re very excited about this agreement,” said Larry Kushner, vice president of sales for Sto. “It provides the industry with ‘one-stop shopping’ for cladding and restoration systems that will carry a warranty backed by two of the most respected names in the business: Sto and Dow Corning.” Duane Govitz, market manager for Dow Corning Construction Industries, Americas, agrees. “Dow Corning is committed to meeting our customers’ needs exactly,” Govitz said. “And we believe these kinds of agreements do just that.” Sto’s network of distributors across the U.S will begin offering 790, 791 and 795 Building Sealants and Dow Corning primers in January 2005. Govitz predicts enthusiastic response to the announcement. “Dow Corning products have been the industry standard in the construction market for years,” he said. “By combining forces with a leading cladding manufacturer like Sto, construction professionals can get quality and convenience in one simple package.” Dow Corning 790 Silicone Building Sealant is a neutral-cure, one-part sealant that quickly cures to a durable, flexible seal. Available in a wide range of colors, its excellent movement capabilities make it ideal for sealing expansion and control joints, EIFS joints and mullion joints. Dow Corning 791 Silicone Weatherproofing Sealant is a one-part, medium-modulus, elastomeric sealant designed for general weathersealing. It is a silicone formulation that cures to a flexible and curable silicone rubber building joint seal. Dow Corning 795 Silicone Building Sealant is used for general weatherproofing applications, including perimeter sealing of door and window frames. A neutral-cure, one-part adhesive/sealant that cures to a durable and flexible seal, it is also ideal for structural and non-structural glazing of glass, metal and plastic, and for adhering stiffeners to building panels. This sealant is also available in many colors. Dow Corning primers are used to promote adhesion of certain one-part silicone sealants and coatings to a variety of construction materials such as plywood, masonry and metal.
