For the third year in row, Dow Corning sponsors the 2007 Chemical
Industry Innovation Award, acknowledging and celebrating the achievements
of companies that are driving innovation to support the continued vitality of
the industry.
A measure of success for most companies is to be recognized by their
customers, industry analysts, and shareholders as innovation leaders, operating
at the cutting edge of their sectors. But true innovation is broader than
that—it requires commitment, flexibility, and a hard look at your offerings in
light of customer needs and market opportunities.
Global research, commissioned by Dow Corning in 2005, asked the question,
“In your organization, who is responsible for innovation?” Respondents
concurred that it is “all employees.” The chief technology officer ranked
second, and the CEO was third.
"At Dow Corning we strive to ensure that people at every level of our
company are empowered to innovate in their own work and in their own ways."
said Stephanie Burns, Dow Corning's chairman, president and CEO.
" Whether innovation involves finding new ways to enhance our product
offerings, new channels, new alliances, or new business models, we encourage
our teams to move fast and take appropriate risks." Read message
about innovation from Dr. Burns.
